Maria Parazo Rose is a spatial data analyst at Grist, where she writes and makes maps about Indigenous affairs, conservation, and climate migration. She graduated with a master's degree from MIT’s Science Writing program, where she reported her thesis on the long-term impacts of the 2019 floods on Nebraska’s farming community. Prior to working as a journalist, she spent a few years in Chiang Mai, Thailand, working with a local NGO on migrant rights and statelessness. Her work can be found in the New York Focus, Grist, Popular Science, The Allegheny Front, and NPR.
