The Planetary Wretched: A Post-Colonial Narrative Architecture Poetry Book is an effort to publish a post-colonial critique of architecture in book format. Learning from the critical role that poetry and science fiction play in shaping futures of emancipation against the legacy of the plantation, the book is equal times compositional prose and fictional narrative.

An editorial, curatorial, and design experiment, the book was developed, co-edited, and co-designed in the seminars From Black Square to Black Reason and Post-Colonial Landscapes offered by WAI Think Tank at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

The Contents of the book were developed on the occasion of an eponymous curatorial project and a series of Loudreading sessions by many of the contributors. The Planetary Wretched exists simultaneously as limited edition printed book (300 copies), free online publication, digitally archived Loudreading sessions, plays, and exhibitions that continue to mutate across platforms and media.
